YONCALLA, OR

Located about halfway between Roseburg and Eugene are Yoncalla and Drain, Oregon.  These small, historic towns feature Victorian houses, covered bridges and scenic byways.  Like most Douglas County towns, they were founded as timber communities.  Drain can be found nestled among fir trees and beautiful scenery.  It is known as one of the gateways to the Pacific Ocean.  Be sure to visit The Charles and Anna Drain House for a prime example of the finest in Queen Ann architecture!  Yoncalla was ahead of the times with an all-female city council government in 1920, just 2 months after women received the right to vote in the U.S.  If you are looking for beautiful landscape with all of the privacy and seclusion you could want, look no further.
